The final competition of the 48th Festival will take place at the main stage of the stadium ,today at three o'clock in the afternoon (15.00 CET).The proclamation of the winners is expected at app. 19.00 and will be directly broadcasted by the national television network RTS directly.

Competition of young trumpeters
On the fourth competition of pioneer brass bands (age of 15) the best orchestra is the one of Vladimir Ivanovic from Zaguzanje.
The best trumpeter ,in the category of pioneers is Petar Milicevic from Kostojevici .
On the twelvethcompetition in the category of youth orchestras (age of 22) the best orchestra is the one of Mijo Bondzulic from Lunovo selo,the second was the orchestra of«Ethno art»from Kostunici (The Bandleader Marko Trnavac)and the third was the orchestra of Zeljko Jovkovicfrom Mrselji.
The best trumpeter in the category of young orchestras is Kristijan Azirovic from Bojnik,the second isBratislav Andjelkovic from Lepenicaand the third is Ivan Jovanovic from Uzice.
PROPOSALS OF TOASTS,NATIONAL COSTUMES …
Among the eight competitors ,the best toast was proposed by Miodrag Sibinovic from Knjazevac(who was the last year’s winner ,too),and the special award was given to thegirl called Vanja Dobrosavljevic from Guca for cherishing of the national tradition .
About twenty competitors strolled acrossthe stage in national costumes and the most beautiful costumes,according to the marks of the jury had Marija Mitrovic and Milan Dukic from Guca (costumes from Sumadia)and Aleksandra Dumitraskovic from Negotin(maiden’s Vlach costume ).
THE FOURTH PRESS CONFERENCE
On the fourth press conference for journalists of the 48th Festival,all present journalists were welcomed by The manager of the center for culture ,sport and tourism of the municipality of Lucani «Dragacevo»Guca Mr Adam Tadic who shared with the present his ipressions about yesterday's events.He informed that we have five new participants of the final competition :

He informed journalists that two concerts were held :the concert of foreign brass bands and the concert of Boban Markovic (Impressions of Mr Adam Tadic,who saw that on the national TV network, are fantastic).
He recommended to all present to watch the great Festival parade with about 70 groups and over 1000 of participants ,as well as the other festival program contents for that day ,including the midnight concert.
Mr.Mile Ristic ,Manager of the Marketing agency “Profile”, Belgrade pointed out the promotion of Guca in the aim to be the capital of trumpet and one of the leading brands ,which Guca, in a way, already is .
Ahter him spoke Mr.Mirjan Kulovec ,The Chairman of the Board of Kolpa –JSC (Joint Stock Company ).He said that people from fis company decided to make cooperation with the Festival on the 30th anniversary of the company and presume that this cooperation could be potentially, mutually useful.
In today’s press conference also, veterans of the festival .Mr.Aleksa Protic ,one of the first organizers of the festival and Mr.Jovisa Slavkovic ,a former Manager of the Culture hall in Guca.
Thelast,fidth in a raw ,press conference is predicted for today at 13.00 with the participation of representatives of the Government of The Republic of Serbia and the local authorities.

About 100 buses with 5000 guests arrived toGuca from Jagodina,Serbia. From the Police department ,Guca we were informed that in the last 24 hours, there was no serious disturbance of law or order in any sense.From the First AidDr. Suluburic gave the information that there were 87 interventions during the night,35on the field and 52 in the First Aid centre. One patient is transported to Cacak ,due to the nature of his injury ,but his life is not seriously endangered Mr. Aleksandar Nisavic from The Serbian Hydrometeorology Institute gave the following weather forecast :sunny and warm , with the maximum temperature of 250 C-260 C,with a weak north-west wind..More information about the weather on www.hydmet.sr.gov.yu From the Serbian Association of Drivers and Help on the road ,we received the information that all roads to Guca are in order and available ,only at the entrance to Guca are expected long lines of cars. The all-around people’s tournament in traditional sport disciplines
This year ,too, like many years before ,many skilled young men competed for the title of “Harambasa” (the chief of a band of haiduks – rebels from the history ).There were 44 competitors. In the disciplines :long jump(3.05m), high jump(1.35m) and throwing a stone from the shoulder(11m) the best was Nedeljko Zelicfrom Novi Sad .In wrestling in bones the strongest was Milos Milanovic from Belgrade and the competitionin shooting an apple through a ring wasn’t held this year.
The title of “Harambasa” won , Nedeljko Zelic from Novi Sad.
The competition was followed by the orchestra of Branko Ostojic from Karan .
Press conference
On the third press conference for journalists of the 48th Festival,all present journalists were welcomed by The President of the municipality of Lucani Mr Slobodan Jolovic who shared with the present the information that about 40,000 guests visited Guca on the first day of the Festival and 100,000 people visited Guca yesterday.He also estimated visit of 130,000 to 150,000 people tomorrow(09/08/2008) and about 200,000 guests on Sunday (10/08/2008).He also estimated that this Festival will have the largest number of visitors so far.
It was also read the proposal of Mr. Slobodan Jolovic that Mr. Boban Markovic should be awarded the title of the recognized artist on the 50th festival in 2010.
The information that during the complete 48 years longhistory Guca Festival was visited by 30,000,000 people was accepted with wandering.
The next person who addressed to the journalists was Mrs.Zakic Mirjana, Ethnomusicologist and The President of the Official Jury of the Festival.She declared that she is a member of The Jury for a long time and that the level of playing is each year higher and higher,and even now it is on the enviable level. She also noticed that orchestras are trying hard to renew traditional Serbian music not only because it is a part of the festival rules .Remanding to old ,traditional Serbian melodies and the revitalization of the Serbian tradition are the jobs that can be compeared with the missionars' jobs. She also pointed out that the job of the Jury is hard,demanding and responsible one,because many orchestras and many solists deserve awards. In the end she wished good luck to all participants of competitions.
The ambassador of trumpet Mr.Boban Markovic said that he won the first prize 20 years ago and that he owns everything connected to his success to Guca Festival .He invited guests to visit his concert on the main stage of the stadium last night.
A trumpeter Mr.Dejan Lazarevic very briefly declared that he is very happy to be in Guca again and that he will say everything on the competition .
A trumpeter Mr.Ekrem mamutovic addressed to the journalists saying that from his 6th birthday a trumpet was a toy,at the age of 7 he entered a music school,at the age of 13 he started to play in the orchestra of Milan Mladenovic and this year he has his own orchestra under the name of bakija Bakic and the leadership of Ekrem Mamutovic.

To the numerous visitors introduced themselves last year winners –trumpet orchestras of:Dejan Lazarevic,Demiran Cerimovic,Dragan Ignic and Ekrem Mamutovic. Beside them appeared singing groups from Grocka,Ducalovici,Kragujevac as well as members of KUD(Culture Artistic Association)”Svetozar Semic” from Jarkovac and ”Branko Cajka”from Tetovo .The trumpeters who won three titles were given the charters of Masters of trumpet. This year they are Radoje Smakic,Demiran Cerimovic and Dejan Lazarevic

According to the predicted program several culture artistic programs took part on the stage in front of The Culture hall at 10.00 and 17.00 .The audience had a chance to see brass bands, singing groups ,folklore dancing groups and poets .In the evening hours was held the concert of The masters of trumpet and two singers- orchestras of Dejan Petrovic ,Veljko Ostojic ,Dragan Ignjic and Nenad Mladenovic and singers Rade Jorovic and Ceda Markovic with the singing groups “Dragacevo girls ”from Guca and “Momcilo Tesic ”from Pozega .
WEDDING
In the atmosphere of the Festival “The Wedding ring”(Zoran Hristic) with trumpet and Guca connected the bride Mara Dakic with the groom Milorad Vranic from Niksic,Montenegro,who declared that this will be the day to remember.

On the first press conference for journalists of the 48th festival,all present journalists were welcomed by The President of the municipality of Lucani Mr Slobodan Jolovic who immediately passed the word to the other present officials
sayingthat he doesn’t want to repeat what was said at the yesterday’s press conference ,and he gave a word to the other guests who were actively involved in the past Festival activities.
Mr. Duško Suluburic,The General Manager of The Health Center Guca spoke about thepublic health in Guca during the festival.
Mr.Rade Milutinovic ,The general Manager of the Public enterprise Komunalac ,Guca spoke aboutthe measures that were undertaken in order that Guca stays clean according to the hygiene standards.
Mr. Aleksandar Pajovic ,The Chairman of the Board of the Centre for culture,sport and tourism spoke about program contents of the Festival.
The Brand manager of the Apatin breweryMr. Slobodan Sreckovic spoke about hte history of the cooperation between the apatin brewery and the festival,announcing the contract of the partnership between |Apatin brewery and the Festival for the period of the next two years ,till the 50th Festival.
Dobrivoje Marinski ,Production manager spoke about live broadcasting of the Festival on the RTS chanel.

The President of the municipality of Lucani Mr Slobodan Jolovic speaking about the continuity of the festival and developing of program contents and its infrastructure ,thanked to all those who participated in all previous festivals ,who first established and then developed the Festival as the unique manifestation.
The Minister of Infrastructure Mr.Milutin Mrkonjic repeted that The Government of the |Republic of Serbia will from now support and sponsor this manifestation that has already become the Serbian brand ,and has potentials to become the world one.
The Host of the Festival Mr.Velimir Ilic invited everybody to come with words :”These days Guca is the place for everybody”.
The President of the local community of Guca Mr.Miroslav Radojicic pointed out that the local community of Guca has undertaken numerous activities in the aim that this manifestation passes in the best possible order.

EXHIBITIONS ARE OPENED
In the building of the old County Headquarters on the first Festival day ,at 16.00 was opened the exhibition with the works of :The Association of painters and sculptors of Dragacevo,Jovan NIkolic Era,The ceramiccolony “Dragacevo terra-cotta Guca 2008,as well as guests Milija Leposavic,Milomir Kondzulovic and Gorica Segovic.
Remembering the previous festivals ,and having in mind new ones ,the exhibition was opened by The Manager of the Center for culture,sport and tourism Mr .Adam Tadic ,Mr Jovisa Slavkovic ,a member of The Association of painters and sculptors of Dragacevo,and Mr. Predrag Radovanovica doyen of the naïve painting of Dragacevo.
It is Opened the art exhibition of works of Dragacevo women weavers (The building of County headquarters). The women cooperative „Rajka Borojevic “from Donji Dubac.dragacevo weavers cherish and preserve Serbian tradition and present our treasure to the world.
The General Association of Enterpreneurs of The Municipality of Lucani presented their most successful members and their products at the stadium this year ,too.
PRESENTATION OF BOOKS AND PUBLICATIONS PUBLISHED BETWEEN THE TWO FESTIVALS
Last night in the Culture hall were presented 17 issues ,published between the two festivals .Mr .Jovisa Slavkovic spoke about books ,pointing out that the library of the festival is becoming richer and more numerous .From year to year ,there are more and more new titles and authors.There are a lot of them,they are not from Dragacevo,but they write about Dragacevo and the Festival.The publisher of two books is the Center for culture,sport and tourism of the municipality of Lucani «Dragacevo»Guca.
CULTURE ARTISTIC PROGRAM STARTED ,TOO
On the first Festival day,on the stage in front of the Center for culture,sport and tourism of the municipality of Lucani «Dragacevo»Guca ,appeared numerous guests ,who presented themselves to the audience by their playing,singing and dancing .Among them were present orchestras of Dejan Lazarevic from Pozega and Goran Rankovic from Guca ,Culture Artistic Association “Abrasevic”Guca, Culture Artistic Association”Tanasko Rajic” from Lubic as well as the singing groups “Fellows from Bukovica”from Bukovica, “Dragacevo pearls”from Guca and “Ripple of water”from Uzice.
So far app. 230 journalists from more than 70 media houses have been accredited.

The sound of mortar could be herd all over Guca this morning at eight o'clock. With sound of the festival anthem «From Ovcar and Kablar mountains » played by the orchestra of Goran Rankovic as the background ,the festival flag was raised.

ON FRIDAY THE SEMI-FINAL FOR SENIOR ORCHESTRAS
From this year new rules are introduced for the final competition of senior orchestras in Guca:it is introduced the semi-final qualification and the total number of final participants is decreased.
To the final , as it is previously known , directly go 4 orchestras ,winners from the previous festival. According to the adopted rules , for the 48th festival , 7 more orchestras from qualifications go straight to the final, аnd 12 to the semi-final .Twenty three orchestras come to Guca. The semi-finals will be held on Thursday 8th of August and from that competition 5 of 12 orchestras will join to the final participants.
At the final competition of the 48th Dragacevo Festival instead of 20, there will be 16 orchestras .
ON FRIDAY THE CONCERT OF FOREIGN ORCHESTRAS AND
THE CONCERT OF BOBAN MARKOVIC
Eight orchestras from France,Germany,Poland,Macedonia and Slovenia will play in the afternoon hours on the stage in front of The Culture hall,and in the evening at the stadium.

When the winning sounds of Guca ,remain silent ,Dragacevo trumpets start a journey over the mountains Ovcar. The participation at the festival opens doors to the orchestras, to the most significant festivals and manifestations of various types .
